Brookside Lodge is scenically located next to the river in the village of Doonbeg, Co. Clare, Ireland. It is just an hours drive from Shannon Airport, a three to four hours drive from Dublin Airport and two and a half hours from Cork Airport. Kilkee and the spectacular coast of the Loop Head Peninsula is a short drive only, Lahinch and the Cliffs of Moher are less than half an hour from Doonbeg. It is less than 30 mins drive from the Killimer Shannon car ferry from/to Co. Kerry. 
The river park beside the house with views to Doonbeg Castle and the West Clare countryside has benches and public angling spots. Two local loop walks commence nearby, a safe swimming beach can be found in White Strand, less than 10 mins. away. Beautiful Doughmore strand and sand dunes are a heaven for surfers, golfers and walkers.
Doonbeg Golf Links are situated in a breathtaking location in the dunes behind Doughmore beach. The par-72 layout features a single loop of nine holes out and nine back, the ever changing wind causing consistent variation in play. Most holes feature five or more tee locations. More exciting golf courses are in short driving distances, in Kilkee, Kilrush, Spanish Point and in Lahinch. Doonbeg is a favourite stopover for golfers travelling from Ballybunion in Co. Kerry to Lahinch and further on to Connemara.
Doonbeg village is home to various pubs, with various traditional and contempary musical entertainment on many nights in the season and on weekends in off season. Doonbeg is also hosting a Jazz Festival on Bank Holiday in June, featuring national and international Jazz Bands as well as the Willi Keane Festival with traditional music & dance on the last weekend in October. The Igoe Inn is just across the road from the B&B.
